Yoga teachers...does this sound familiar?

  • You love teaching yin but feel like you’re recycling the same poses over and over again

  • You save yin flows on Instagram that move around a prop and want to learn how to sequence classes like that yourself

  • You want your students to relax into your class, but worry that constantly cueing different prop formations disrupts their experience

  • You struggle to find fresh inspiration for your yin classes and are afraid your favorite poses are getting stale

  • Your self-doubt is so loud it prevents you from working new poses into your go-to sequences

  • You want to feel confident in front of the room, but spend much of your class wondering if students are actually enjoying it

  • You are bored teaching the same eight poses in every yin class, but don’t know where to find new ideas

  • You thrive in flow classes, but want to expand your offerings with something slower-paced and are unsure where to start

  • You feel uncomfortable with the quietness of yin class and find yourself searching for ways to fill the silence

Hi, I am Juliana Larochelle.

I’ve been teaching yoga for 12 years in studios, gyms, teacher trainings, online spaces, and even my own brick-and-mortar studio. While I love teaching (and taking!) yin classes, I found myself frustrated by the usual yin sequence. When taking class, I had a teacher who had us lie in savasana for way too long after every single pose, and I hated how choppy it was. Then, another teacher had us flopping all around the mat, from our backs to low lunge, and then to a seat. It definitely wasn’t my vibe. I really disliked choppy yin classes that had me constantly changing positions and rearranging props. So, I became determined to find a way to teach yin that felt creative, intentional, and flowy

I took two yin trainings, one that was super traditional and allowed no props at all, and another that was more contemporary, but still felt awkward and clunky. And when I was new to teaching yin yoga, I felt so uncomfortable sitting in silence that I literally read Brené Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection to my students while they held their poses. (Luckily, they liked it, but yikes 😅)

One day, as I cued my students to rearrange their bolsters over a stack of blocks for what felt like the millionth time, I had an idea. “What if the class was sequenced around a prop instead of trying to move them around constantly?” And one of my signature creative yin sequencing method was born! I teach with props in inventive ways that don’t require reconfiguring during class. Learning to sequence this way allowed me to lean into stillness and teach yin in a creative, accessible way that keeps yogis coming back class after class. Now I’m sharing the exact framework with you.

During the immersion, we’ll slow it down, move together, and break down yin sequencing in a way that actually works.

This is not a training focused on rigid yin frameworks.

It’s about understanding the foundations and the three yin principles so we can then break all the “rules.”

The Yin Creative Sequencing Immersion is a 15-hour, in-person weekend training offered nationally. You’ll learn to create flowing, prop-supported yin classes that feel unique to you.

In this immersion, you will:

  • Build yin sequences that flow

  • Explore more than 30 creative and uncommon yin poses

  • Review the background of yin yoga and the three principles of yin

  • Use Juliana’s signature creative yin sequencing method to build an entire sequence around a single prop configuration — without repeatedly moving everything around

  • Sequence around:

    • A bolster ramp

    • Stonehenge prop setup

    • 1 bolster

    • 2 blocks

  • Use bolsters, blocks, and straps to support students in creative and unexpected ways

  • Manage props more smoothly throughout class

  • Understand the difference between yin and restorative yoga — and why using props doesn’t automatically make a class restorative

  • Add a theme, dharma talk, or intention and weave it throughout a yin class

  • Teach yoga beyond the asanas, even in a yin setting

  • Become more comfortable holding silence and stillness as a teacher

You’ll also receive:

  • A digital creative yin manual

  • A 15-hour creative yin yoga certificate

  • Five yin sequences you build during the training

  • An optional group dinner on Friday evening

  • An optional content shoot on Saturday, where we’ll showcase the sequences you created during the training for social media

  • If your video is selected, you will have an opportunity to be featured on Juliana’s Instagram page
